Orangetown is celebrating America's 250th birthday on Saturday, July 4, 2026 with a parade and all-day festival in Tappan, NY. Admission is free.

9:00 AM โ Declaration of Independence Reading
The St. Dominic Knights of Columbus of Blauvelt opens the day with a patriotic reading ceremony, including:
- The Declaration of Independence
- Excerpt from Thomas Paine's American Crisis
- The Gettysburg Address
- The 4th Stanza of the Star-Spangled Banner
10:00 AM โ Parade Step-Off
The parade steps off at 10:00 AM with an honor battalion followed by six battalions representing Orangetown's hamlets and fire departments in alphabetical order:
- Honor Battalion
- Blauvelt Volunteer Fire Company Inc.
- Nyack Fire Department
- Orangeburg Volunteer Fire Department
- Pearl River Hook & Ladder Co #1 and Excelsior Fire Engine Company No. 1
- Sparkill โ Palisades Fire Department
- Tappan Fire Department
Ceremony at German Masonic Park
The parade concludes with a brief ceremony at German Masonic Park (89 Western Highway South, Tappan). Rita Harvey will sing the National Anthem.
12:00 PM โ Festival Begins
The free outdoor festival runs all afternoon at German Masonic Park with live music:

- Eighth Grade Science
- George 5
Costume Contest (12:00โ1:30 PM)
John Mulgrew hosts a costume contest sponsored by Rob Bonomolo for NY State Assembly District 97. Come dressed up โ judging runs 12:00โ1:00 PM, with winners announced around 1:30 PM.
